| Menno Boermans is an award winning photographer, famous for his jaw dropping images of the outdoor life. After studying photojournalism in Amsterdam he captured the news for many years. Living in Switzerland he nowadays is specialized in taking photographs in the austere environment. Locations his work has appeared include National Geographic Magzine, National Geographic Traveler, Alpinist Magazine, Vertical and Life. Recent assignments include work for the Mammut Sports Group, the Swiss Tourism Agency and Air Zermatt. Menno also is a correspondent for Alpinist Magazine and writes stories for several Dutch magazines. Among many remote places assignments and expeditions brought him to Nepal, Pakistan, Chile, Morocco, Papua, Canada, Japan, Alaska and multiple countries in Europe and Asia. Menno Boermans' photo work is represented by: Hollandse Hoogte (NL) and Aurora Photo's (USA). Besides being a photographer Menno Boermans is a trained mountain rescue technician with experience in providing emergency medical care during rescue missions in the high mountains of Switzerland, France, the Himalayas and Alaska.At the Swiss Alpine Rescue Center (by Air Zermatt) Menno is a member of the instruction team and for the company HFSolutions he is a Crew Resource Management and Human Factors trainer.Currently Menno is being trained as a professional Paramedic at the National Medical Education and Training Center, an emergency medical program accredited by the University of Texas Health Science Center. |
